2011 Cloud Landscape (Predictions)

This is an interesting and well articulated, insightful outline of cloud computing in 2011. It could be especially useful for schools wanting to either start a formal cloud computing architecture/initiative, expand their cloud footprint, or just want some sense of how cloud computing will look over the next year.

One of the more salient points can be found in Prediction #3 about Hybrid Computing. It discusses something that schools should consider while looking at cloud applications: bandwidth.  While there are many learning, econonmic, resource, and support benefits to cloud computing as a whole, bandwidth-or the lack thereof-can really nullify the enhancements.
